Vietnam's tuna exports increased 16% year-on-year in the first half of this year

According to the Intrafish report: according to the data from Vietnam aquatic products export and Producers Association, Vietnam's tuna exports in the first half of this year were 0.108 billion US dollars, up 16% year-on-year, and catfish exports increased 8% year-on-year. Frozen tuna waist meat exports account for 60% of the total exports of this kind of products.

Although Vietnam's canned tuna industry is facing competition from China, Ecuador, Philippines and Indonesia, its canned tuna exports to the United States have reached 40 million US dollars. In the first seven months of this year, Vietnam's tuna exports reached 1.1 billion US dollars, up 8.2% year-on-year. The total export volume of Vietnamese tuna to the United States was 0.2208 billion US dollars, up 3.3% year-on-year, accounting for 22% of the total export volume of Vietnamese tuna.

Vietnamese tuna exports to China and Hong Kong, China amounted to US $0.2061 billion, up 46.2% year-on-year. Exports to emerging regions such as Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and Arab increased by 59.3%, 25.7%, 8.9% and 6% respectively. But Vietnamese tuna exports to Europe decreased by 23.5%.
