On the morning of November 2, the 2017 ASEAN national green ecological aquaculture official seminar officially opened in Xiamen city. Sun Shengzhi, deputy inspector of the international cooperation department of the State Oceanic Administration, former deputy mayor of Xiamen city, pan Shijian, secretary general of the Secretariat of the East Asian coastal zone sustainable development Local Government Network (PNLG), Lin Huaiyuan, member of the leading Party group and chief engineer of Xiamen Marine and Fishery Bureau and other leaders attended the opening ceremony, from Philippines, Cambodia, Malaysia, representatives of 16 officials from relevant departments of marine fisheries from 5 ASEAN countries including Indonesia and Vietnam and East Timor attended the seminar.

This seminar is hosted by the State Oceanic Administration of the People's Republic of China, co-sponsored by the China-ASEAN marine cooperation center (to be established) and the Secretariat of PNLG, and co-hosted by the Secretariat of Xiamen southern marine research center and Fujian Marine Research Institute. During the 7-day study and exchange, the seminar will invite domestic experts and scholars to give special lectures around the relevant contents of green ecological aquaculture, and organize on-the-spot visits to inspect the local green ecological aquaculture mode, let the seminar officials have a detailed understanding of China's aquaculture situation, relatively advanced aquaculture technology and leisure fishery development industry, etc, at the same time, Seminar officials will be organized as guests to participate in relevant activities of "Xiamen International Ocean Week.

Organizers said that the marine cooperation between China and ASEAN started in 1990s. Since 2012, China-ASEAN maritime cooperation has entered a new stage of upgrading, updating and development, opening a new chapter of jointly building the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. In November 2016, the China-ASEAN marine cooperation center, which has been elaborately prepared for two years, settled in Xiamen, the venue of the seminar, which means that with the help of this platform, China and ASEAN countries will work on marine industry, marine trade and investment, accelerate and deepen cooperation in marine science and technology, marine environmental protection, disaster prevention and mitigation, marine culture, marine management and maritime interconnection. This seminar is held under the purpose of jointly improving the independent development ability of China and ASEAN countries and strengthening the win-win cooperation between China and ASEAN countries in the marine field, in order to deepen the friendship between China and ASEAN countries, promote China-ASEAN International talent training and exchange, and look forward to gradually forming a large-scale service channel for international exchange of talents and talent exchange, enhance the potential of cooperation between China and ASEAN countries to develop the market, and continuously add bricks and tiles to the new demand of cooperation between the two sides.
